INTRODUCTION
Many believers today still live as though they are prisoners—bound by fear, sin, curses, guilt, or the opinions of people. Yet the Bible clearly teaches that those who belong to Christ have been set free.
When Jesus died and rose again, He broke every chain that could hold the believer captive. Unfortunately, many Christians do not walk in this freedom because they do not fully understand who they are in Christ.
This book reveals a powerful truth: a true child of God cannot remain in bondage. If Christ lives in you, then His victory becomes your victory.
Freedom is the inheritance of every believer. When we understand this truth and apply it to our lives, we begin to experience the power, peace, and authority that God intended for His children.
CHAPTER 1:
UNDERSTANDING WHO A TRUE CHILD OF GOD IS
A true child of God is someone who has been born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Being born again means:
• Your old sinful nature is replaced with a new nature.
• You receive the Spirit of God.
• You become part of God's family.
The moment a person receives Christ, their identity changes completely. The Bible says: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
A child of God is not defined by their past but by their new life in Christ.
CHAPTER 2:
WHAT THE BIBLE CALLS BONDAGE
Bondage is anything that controls, enslaves, or oppresses a person spiritually, mentally, or physically.
Forms of bondage include sinful habits, fear, demonic oppression, addiction, generational curses, and condemnation.
Before salvation humanity was under the power of darkness. But the Bible says God has delivered believers from the power of darkness and brought them into the kingdom of His Son (Colossians 1:13).
Through Christ, believers are no longer prisoners but citizens of God's kingdom.
Chapter 3: Jesus Came to Destroy Bondage
The mission of Jesus Christ was to set people free.
The Bible declares: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
Wherever Jesus went:
• The sick were healed
• Demons fled
• The oppressed were restored
Bondage cannot survive where Christ reigns.
Chapter 4: Why Some Christians Still Feel Bound
Some believers still live as though they are enslaved because of several reasons.
Lack of Knowledge — Hosea 4:6 says God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Unrenewed Mind — Romans 12:2 teaches believers must renew their minds.
Unconfessed Sin — Persistent sin can give the enemy a foothold.
Fear and Lies — The devil uses deception, but the truth of God's Word brings freedom.
Chapter 5: The Authority of the Believer
Every child of God carries spiritual authority.
Jesus said: “Behold, I give unto you power… over all the power of the enemy.” (Luke 10:19)
Through Christ believers have authority over demons, fear, sin, and spiritual oppression.
You are not a victim. You are a victor in Christ.
Chapter 6: Walking in Your Freedom
Freedom must be practiced daily.
Believers maintain freedom by studying God's Word, living a life of prayer, obeying God, and resisting the devil.
James 4:7 says: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
The believer stands in authority, not fear.
Chapter 7: Signs You Are Walking in Freedom
When believers walk in true freedom:
• Peace replaces fear
• Sin loses its control
• Boldness replaces insecurity
• Joy becomes constant
• Spiritual authority becomes evident
Freedom means experiencing Christ's victory in everyday life.
Conclusion
A true child of God is not meant to live in chains.
Because of the finished work of Christ, sin has been defeated, the devil has been disarmed, and the believer has been empowered.
Declare daily:
I am a child of God.
I am redeemed.
I am free in Christ.
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
