The Illusion of the Senses vs. The Truth of the Word

The Illusion of the Senses vs. The Truth of the Word

The enemy’s oldest tactic is the distortion of identity. Just as he took Jesus to the mountain and the pinnacle of the temple to test His divine sonship, he uses the "altars" of your mind—dreams, visions, and feelings—to weave a narrative that isn't yours.

The Tactics of Deception

  • Environmental Manipulation: He may take you to the "water" in a dream to make you believe you belong to a dark heritage, or through "dirty places" to convince you that you are an unclean vessel. It is written: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." (Colossians 1:13)
  • It is written: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." (Colossians 1:13)

    • Physical Suggestion: He weaponizes your body, using a fleeting symptom to make you claim "sickness" or a "headache" as your permanent state. It is written: "By His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
    • It is written: "By His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)

      • Circumstantial Storms: He uses financial lack or family friction to whisper that you are "poor" or cursed by "foundational problems." It is written: "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
      • It is written: "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

The Goal: To make you meditate on the lie until you believe it is your reality. Because what you meditate on, you eventually empower.

        YOU ARE NOT YOUR FEELINGS

Feelings are indicators, not dictators. They are the weather; the Word of God is the rock. When the enemy attempts to define you by your current struggle, remember that your identity was settled at the Cross, not in your current crisis.

It is written: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

JESUS CHRIST REPLIED: "It Is Written"

When Jesus was tempted, He didn't argue with logic or fight with His feelings. He replied with the Word. Your reply to every situation must be the truth of God’s Word. It is both a shield to protect you and a sword to strike back.

        • The Truth as a Shield: "Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one." (Ephesians 6:16)
        • The Truth as a Sword: "And take... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:17)

        The Mandate

Do not negotiate with a liar. Stop meditating on the "storm" and start magnifying the "Stiller of the Storm." You are not what you feel; you are who God says you are. Cast down every imagination that contradicts the Truth.

It is written: "Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5)
